Vanessa Bryant Files Wrongful Death Lawsuit Against Helicopter Co. Pilot

On Monday, the memorial service for Kobe and Gianna Bryant was held in the Staples Center. The building was full of emotions as speakers came to the podium to speak and tell their memories of their loved ones. Vanessa Bryant even stepped up with her eulogy of her family. On that same Monday, we found out she filed a wrongful death lawsuit against the helicopter company's pilot, as reported by TMZ. Of course there were 9 people on the helicopter that crashed and ultimately killed everyone in the helicopter. The lawsuit alleges Island Express was only allowed to fly under visual flight rules, and the conditions the day of the crash were not conducive for such flying. When the helicopter crashed, it was a very foggy day and the lawsuit also says the pilot was going 180 miles per hour in that thick fog. The lawsuit claims the pilot failed to properly monitor the weather before takeoff. Vanessa is asking for punitive damages, claiming the pilot and Island Express were reckless.
