TeeRoy's 2 Cents:
- She must have marveled at what modern computers can do.

Pioneering mathematician Katherine Johnson, one of the women portrayed in the hit film Hidden Figures, has died. She was 101.
Johnson passed away this morning (Monday), according to NASA.
Before computers were used, Johnson calculated the trajectory for Alan Shepard, who piloted the first U.S. manned mission into space. And when John Glenn was preparing to become the first American to orbit the Earth, he requested that Johnson personally verify the computer-generated calculations.
President Obama awarded the Presidential Medal of Freedom to Johnson in 2015. (ABC News)
