Rihanna FINALLY Reveals Details About Her Upcoming Album 'R9'

R9 is coming... eventually!

For over three years, Rihanna has been all but mute when it came to details about her next album. However, in a recent interview with T Magazine, the 31-year-old songstress FINALLY opened up about the highly-anticipated project, dispelling and confirming a number of rumors that have surrounded the forthcoming album for years.

While previewing her soon-to-launch Fenty fashion line, which she has created in partnership with LVMH, making her the first black woman in charge of a major luxury fashion house in Paris, Rihanna was asked if it's true she's working on a reggae album. "Yeah," she simply responded, confirming what fans have suspected for nearly a year.

Rihanna additionally shot down an alleged Lady Gaga collaboration rumor that a few of her fans were convinced was in the works. "Maybe because she followed me on Instagram [they thought that]," she suggested. "It’s not in the books right now, but I’m not against it." However, there's one collab she's not really here for (at least for right now), and that's one with her former flame, Drake. When asked if any Drake-Rih collabs could be expected in the near future, Rihanna said, that's not happening "anytime soon, I don’t see it happening. Not on this album, that’s for sure."

While Rih was mum about further details regarding the album's sound and its features, she did reveal that she's pretty locked-in on one album name. "So far it’s just been R9, thanks to [my fans] the Navy," she explained. "I’m about to call it that probably, 'cause they have haunted me with this 'R9, R9, when is R9 coming out?' How will I accept another name after that’s been burned into my skull?"

But fans will have to wait a little (maybe a lot, who knows?) for the release of R9 as unbothered Rihanna, with her fifty-'leven jobs, admitted that she doesn't have a clue when the project will be released.
