All Veterans Are Eligible for Free Mental Health Crisis Treatment

To all the Veterans, thank you for your service. These men and women put themselves on the frontline for strangers every day. Unfortunately, many vets suffer from PTSD or other mental health issues. And although it seems late in the game, our veterans can now receive help for free. We hear about suicide way too much and now Veterans can seek the help they need. According to the U.S Department of Veterans' Affairs, starting today, Jan. 17, Vets in suicidal crisis will be able to go to any VA or non-VA health care facility for emergency health care at no cost. This will included inpatient or crisis residential care for up to 30 days and outpatient care for up to 90 days. And Veterans don't need to be enrolled in the VA system to use this benefit. Our Veterans can get the world-class emergency health care they deserve. Preventing Veteran suicide is VA’s top clinical priority and a top priority of the Biden-Harris Administration.
