University of Virginia Cancels Football Game After 3 Players Killed

The University of Virginia is mourning three athletes who were shot and killed. Members of the football team were shot by Christopher Darnell Jones, Jr., who was a former running back. He shot and killed the team's linebacker D'Sean Perry and the receivers, Lavel Davis and Devin Chandler on a bus on campus after returning to the school from a class field trip. Jones also shot Mike Hollins, running back as well as another student who were injured from the shooting. The university has decided not to play this weekend's football game against Coastal Carolina, TMZ reports. The game has been canceled and there will not be a makeup date. Coastal Carolina has not issues with the decision and stand in solidarity with UVA. It was the right decision to make as the families as well as students mourn their deaths. Jones appeared in court for a hearing on Wednesday morning. No bond was given and he will be back in court in December.
