Philly Police Have Until Feb. 11 to Get Vaccinated

There are several companies who have implemented the COVID-19 vaccine mandate. In Philly, this also includes the police. Philadelphia police officers now have until February 11 to get at least one dose of the COVID-19 vaccine. According to the 6ABC, the new deadline happened after an arbitration panel ruled in favor of the city's workforce vaccine mandate. But in a way, there is a bonus for the mandate, literally. Police who comply with the mandate will get up to a $500 bonus if they are fully vaccinated by the deadline. However, the officers who fail to meet the new deadline will be required to double mask or wear an N95 mask and take regular COVID-19 tests. Just like individuals, the police can apply for religious or medical exemptions, but will still be required to follow the additional protocols. And then on March 1, those who are unvaccinated and don't have an exemption will be placed on unvaccinated leave. If there are police who don't comply with any of the steps at all, they could be at risk of losing their job.
