PA Drivers are Required to "Move Over" or Face Fines

You've been driving long enough to know when to move over but some people don't have that same courtesy. Drivers in Pennsylvania will now have to move over, or slow down when they see an emergency vehicle or if a car is broken down with the flashers on. If you don't move over or slow it down, you could face a fine of about $500 for the first offense, according to NBC 10. This rule starts today. The new "Move Over Law" calls for drivers to move into to the left lane when approaching an emergency vehicle with lights flashing. Now of course if you can't move over, then you need to slow it down to at least 20 mph under the speed limit. If you don't follow the new rule, the offenses could go up and you can even have your license suspended for 90 days upon a third offense. A driver faces a fine up to $10,000 for a crash that hurts or injures a person. So watch out on the roads.
