Kobe Bryant and Nike had a relationship for nearly 20 years now, however, some relationships have to come to an end. Kobe's estate, lead by his widow, Vanessa Bryant, has decided not to renew their deal, according to ESPN. Kobe signed a 5-year "post retirement endorsement extension" back in 2016, but Vanessa decided not to renew it. She told ESPN, "Kobe and Nike have made some of the most beautiful basketball shoes of all time, worn and adored by fans and athletes in all sports across the globe. It seems fitting that more NBA players wear my husband's product than any other signature shoe," after saying their deal expired just this month. So why did she end the deal? Well a source says she wasn't that happy with how they would continue with his legacy and basically, money and and shoe availability was an issue. It seems like Vanessa was frustrated with Nike limiting availability of Kobe products and there wasn't availability of Kobe footwear in kids' sizes, according to sources. Vanessa said, "My hope will always be to allow Kobe's fans to get and wear his products." Hopefully Nike will come with a deal she will be happy with.
