Officer Who Shot Daunte Wright to Be Charges with Manslaughter

On Tuesday, Brooklyn Center, Minnesota Mayor Mike Elliott said he believes the officer who shot Daunte Wright, should be fired. Well that officer, Kim Potter, resigned, according to TMZ. She wrote a letter to the mayor and police chief, saying, "I have loved every minute of being a police officer and serving this community to the best of my ability, but I believe it is in the best interest of the community, the department, and my fellow officers if I resign immediately." On top of that, Police Chief Tim Gannon is resigning as well. Although there wasn't a reason given, we're sure it had something to do with trying to take up for Potter, saying he believed she was trying to go for her taser instead of handgun. That statement made things worse.

Update: Kim Potter, the Minnesota police officer who fatally shot Daunte Wright, will be charged with second-degree manslaughter for the killing, a prosecutor said Wednesday, according to CNBC.
