Chilean President, Sebastian Pinera was fine $3,500 for taking a selfie with one of his citizens on the beach without a mask. Since the Pandemic, the health organization in Chile has strict rules regarding masks in their country. Although this was an innocent situation, the Chilean government requested for President Pinera to turn himself in to the police.
Since the event, President Pinera has apologized and turned himself in. With Chile reported to have 581,135 cases of the virus since the outbreak began in March, and 16,051 deaths from the disease, they are doing everything they can to contain the virus according to reuters.com.
