If you were expecting to see a Cookie Lyon return on Fox, it won't be happening. The "Empire" spinoff was supposed to go down starring Taraji P. Henson, reprising her role as Cookie Lyon. It was announced in July that Taraji was a part of a first-look deal for the spinoff. But here is the thing. At the time, 20th Television and Fox were a part of the same company. Since then, Disney bought 20th Television and has ownership of the show and Fox has no stake in it, according to Variety. So the show won't take place on Fox, however, we hear, according to sources, the show will be shopped around for other networks.
