New York Mayor, Mayor Bill de Blasio plans to enforce traveling restricted checkpoints to help prevent a second wave of COVID-19. According to the nytimes.com, "[Checkpoints] would be set up at bridges and tunnels, conjuring images of police officers stopping cars and detaining people from out of state.
They say they will not be stopping every car and the police department will not be the enforcers.
Laura Feyer, a spokeswoman for Mr. De Blasio, believes that advance notice would not be available of where the checkpoints would be to avoid people routing around them, according to nytimes.com.
