The NFL is trying to show the league actually cares about black people. During all of the protests, the NFL Commissioner, Roger Goodell, basically apologized to the black players for not listening to them regarding social injustices. Now, it seems like the NFL is trying to get on good graces with the players. But this is a bit different. According to ESPN, before the football games in week 1, "Lift Ev'ry Voice And Sing," traditionally known as the Black national anthem, is expected to be performed live or played before every NFL game. The song would be performed before "The Star-Spangled Banner." Word is, the league is considering a variety of other measures during the upcoming season to recognize victims of police brutality. So will this make a difference? Clearly, the NFL is trying to make up for the things they ignored, such as Colin Kaepernick's Knee-Gate, but is it too late? And does that mean they will incorporate the second verse to "Lift Ev'ry Voice and Sing," because you know, not many know the words? Just saying
