Atlanta Cops Fired For Using Excessive Force on College Students

Some of these protests over the death of George Floyd is definitely waking many people up, including law enforcement. People are pissed, frustrated, angry and tired over what we are seeing in the news. but while there are peaceful protesting, there are riots and people taking advantage of the situation and looting, with no real cause behind that. However, when cities implemented curfews, some people were still handled with excessive force. According to CBS 46 in Atlanta, 2 college students, Taniyah Pilgrim attends Spelman, and her friend Messiah Young of Morehouse were driving home from a protest after the city instituted a curfew this past Saturday. What happened next looked like a scene from a movie when Atlanta police basically swarmed the car and smashed out the windows and tased Young, and dragged both Pilgrim and Young out of the vehicle. One reports said and officer on the scene had reason to suspect Young was armed but of course, there were no weapons found. Mayor Keisha Bottoms announced on Sunday, two of the officers have been terminated for violating the department's excessive force policy. Also, three other officers were placed on desk duty pending further investigation. Check out one reporter's video HERE.
