People are still in awe that it took 74 days for two men to get arrested in the shooting death of Ahmaud Arbery. He is the young man who was shot back in February, while he was out jogging in his neighborhood. Two white men, Gregory and his son Travis McMichaels, shot and killed Ahmaud after calling police claiming they suspected him to be the suspect in recent home robberies. There was so much to this case but it seems like no arrests would have been made if a video wasn't released showing the moment Ahmaud was shot. It was last week when video was released that the GBI arrested and finally charged the two men, one being a former cop, in Ahmaud's death. Now we all want justice especially with how the case was handled, or lack there of, when the shooting first happened. According to NBC News, the Department of Justice said it will consider the shooting as a hate crime. The DOJ will review the death and asses whether federal hate crime charges should be pursued in the high-profile case. Let's hope this case gets handled the proper way and justice will be served.
