L.A. Lakers Will Return $4.6 Million in Federal Loans

When the coronavirus pandemic happened, it messed up a lot of business because as we can see, a lot of venues had to close and a lot of entertainment events had to be shut down or canceled. But then there was an effort to help out a few businesses. Small business were getting help but then you had major businesses like sports teams and big time restaurants who were getting federal loans. According to TMZ, the L.A. Lakers applied for and received $4.6 million in loans under the Payroll Protection Program. Apparently they were the only NBA team that applied. But the Lakers are giving that money back, especially after hearing the program is running low in helping small businesses. They decided that money should go back to help those most in need of the funds. Remember, Shake Shack returned their $10 million loan to help out smaller businesses as well.
