When the #MeTooMovement happened, it happened with a vengeance. Women got tired of being sexually harassed or sexually assaulted on their jobs or anywhere else. When these women started speaking out, it shocked many people because top celebrities were accused of sexual harassment. Even Russell Simmons was named by a few women. He has since denied being that way towards women, but did admit he was a bit aggressive to maybe one or two women when he tried to kiss them, but he felt the kiss was consensual. However, some accusers didn't feel that way. Although it's been over a year that we heard of some allegations, things have been pretty quiet about Russell until now. There is a trailer for an upcoming documentary called "On The Record" that tells the story of former Def Jam A&R music executive Drew Dixon. In the trailer you see Drew fighting with herself on whether she should be the first black woman coming forward to tell about her sexual assault by Russell. There are a few other accusers. This would have been the documentary that Oprah Winfrey and Apple TV signed on to do, but pulled out because of discrepancies in the stories from the women. But it looks like the documentary will now air on HBOMax on May 27. Check out the trailer.
