Before the coronavirus pandemic took over our lives, shut things down and made us stay indoors and cancel plans, people had vacations or trips to go on. The pandemic caused many of us to cancel those flights. Then we started seeing flight prices drop, so sure, jump on them. But then more and more people had to cancel their flights. While some airlines had no problems issuing refunds, or even waived fees for changes or cancellations, there were some airlines who aren't doing that, but instead offering vouchers. I even had a flight booked and received a voucher instead of a full refund. Well now, there are some senators who are urging the airlines to give their customers their cash back, especially since many people aren't or cannot work because of the COVID-19 and stay-at-home orders. The New York Post reports there are 9i Democratic US senators who are urging the chief executives of 11 major airlines to issue full cash refunds to customers canceling flights during the coronavirus pandemic after Congress approved $25 billion in cash grants for the airline industry. Some of the senators wrote a letter saying, "We believe your company has a moral responsibility to provide real refunds, not travel vouchers, to consumers, and to support State Department efforts to repatriate any American citizens trying to come home." Those who wrote the letter were Senators Elizabeth Warren, Ed Markey, Kamala Harris, Bernie Sanders, Amy Klobuchar, Richard Blumenthal, Chris Murphy, Sheldon Whitehouse and Bob Casey.
