Okay parents, we are checking on you all. It was announced yesterday that the Pennsylvania schools will remain closed until April 6. Gov. Tom Wolf made the announcement Monday that schools, initially shut through Friday, will remain closed at least through April 6 and possibly longer "if necessary to save lives and stop the spread of COVID-19," according to the Inquirer. This was told some hours after we spoke with Superintendent of the Philadelphia School District, Dr. William Hite. Although he wasn't sure about how long the closure would last, he did make mention of updated grab-and-go meals for students as well as speaking about the standardized testing being canceled. Originally, we were told by the end of this week, being the end of the 2 weeks we were initially told. Meanwhile, Delaware Gov. John Carney has ordered all Delaware schools to remain closed through at least Friday, May 15 to fight the spread of coronavirus. But that shouldn't be a total shocker as it was for Virginia. Virginia has canceled school for the rest of the academic year, according to The Washington Post.
