'Pose' Star Billy Porter Makes History With Emmy Win

Billy Porter and RuPaul won Emmys during Sunday night's annual awards ceremony, Porter, made history on Sunday night when he became the first openly gay black man to be nominated, and win, an Emmy for outstanding actor in a drama series for his portrayal of Pray Tell in Pose. RuPaul's Drag Race just won the Emmy Award for Outstanding Reality-Competition Program.It was nominated along with American Ninja Warrior, Nailed It, The Amazing Race, The Voice, and Top Chef. Jharrel Jerome made history at the Emmys. Jerome, the 21-year-old actor who portrayed Korey Wise in Netflix’s When They See Us, became the first Afro-Latino to win an Emmy for acting when he took home the Outstanding Lead Actor in a Limited Series or Movie award.
