Taraji P. Henson is getting dragged on social media following an Instagram story Tuesday (Jan. 22) comparing the negative response to R. Kelly to that of Harvey Weinstein. Taraji P. Henson has been criticized for comparing the use of the MuteRKelly hashtag to #MuteWeinstein and #MuteHarveyWeinstein. In her story series, she looked up the #MuteRKelly hashtag on Instagram, which had more than 30,000 posts associated with it, whereas #MuteHarvey and #MuteHarveyWeinstein had less than 20 posts. Her clips suggested a confusion as to why Weinstein was receiving less hate than Kelly, even though they both have been accused of sexually abusing women. Henson later attempted to clarify her stance on the matter, tweeting that she believed Kelly was guilty “and should be muted.” Thanks for the tea Billboard!
