in blankstare news;DIRTY DOGS

There's a myth that dog's mouths are actually cleaner than humans.

THAT IS A LIE.

Researchers at Nova Southeastern University in Florida studied saliva samples from dogs and and found evidence of Nisseria, a bacteria linked to STDs, pneumonia and plaque.

The good news is that the bacteria doesn't stick around very long and in a lot of cases, is gone from the dog's mouth in a matter of minutes.

But if you think about all the things a dog licks in a day, you'll probably want to stick with belly scratches. (CBS)

Let me ask this ...

  • Does your dog lick your face? Does it gross you out when human let their dogs lick them? Do you share food with your dog?
