Kevin Durant Wins NBA's MVP Award
Yesterday the NBA announced that Kevin Durant, who had his best playmaking season yet this year, is the 2013-2014 MVP. He received 119 of 125 first-place votes and 1,232 of the voting points. Durants win takes the title from Lebron James who has had it for the past 4 out of 5 seasons. If Lebron would have won this year it would have been the first time in NBA history that a player had won 5 times in 6 seasons. James spoke on Durants win saying, “It's great…Every night you know you stack up against the best and you want to see what you can do no matter if you're playing against him or not…KD's had one hell of a year, both offensively, the streak he was one with the 25-plus, 30-plus and all across the board. … Kudos to him, much respect to him and he deserves it. He had a big-time MVP season.”

US Stepping In To Help Nigeria #BringBackOurGirls
The US has extended their hand and offered to help in the search for the more than 200+ Nigerian girls still missing from the school abduction a couple of weeks ago. Social media has been on fire with #BringBackOurGirls talking for action from the US for this. As we know the Islamic militant group called the Boko Haram took the girls in the middle of the night from their school because they don’t want the girls getting a western education. Secretary of State John Kerry offered to “provide expertise on intelligence, investigations and hostage negotiations” in an effort to locate the girls. He spoke with Nigerian President Goodluck Jonathan yesterday and the help was accepted. It looks like the plan is to send military, intelligence and law enforcement advisors to Nigeria. They won’t be sending military force, just yet. Kerry continued, “We remain deeply concerned about the welfare of these young girls…And we want to provide whatever assistance in order to help for their safe return to their families… we’re going to do everything in our power to be able to be helpful.” The US aid will begin immediately and Kerry plans to meet with Obama to discuss other ways that the US Army can be of assistance. According to new reports even more Nigerian girls have been kidnapped following the mass kidnapping that took place a couple of weeks ago. On Sunday night 8 girls from a village in northeast Nigeria were abducted in the middle of the night. The girls were between the ages of 12 and 15. As we know these girls are being sold in marriage, prostitution and slavery. Witnesses described the kidnappers as gunman who arrived in the village on two trucks and also took food and animals. Because the village is so small and communication so limited, it took several days for the news of the abductions to spread. Nigeria’s President has been under extreme fire for what was believed to be negligence and a lack of action on the government’s part to take the first set of abductions seriously. On Monday the terrorist group leader announced that he planned to sell the girls and described his hate for Western education.

Andy Roeser, the LA Clippers president, will be taking a leave of absence from the team. The announcement was made yesterday and the leave will be indefinitely as the league restructures the franchise due to Donald Sterling’s lifetime ban of association. An NBA spokesperson said, “This will provide an opportunity for a new CEO to begin on a clean slate and for the team to stabilize under difficult circumstance.” Clippers’ coach Doc Rivers was surprised by the decision. He said, “I knew they were going to bring in a new CEO eventually, but it is (a surprise)…I just didn't know about it. I'm glad I didn't know about it, actually. I think the NBA is doing their job, and we're just trying to keep this thing together.” Roeser has been Sterling’s right hand man over the years, standing by him through every controversial moment. He mad Clippers fans furious when the recordings went public however. He defended Sterling, apologizing on his behalf, criticized Stiviano and questioned the legitimacy of the recordings. Roeser has been with the team since 1984.

Sterling may be looking to sue the league for issuing him a lifetime ban and possibly forcing him to sell the Clippers. Reports say his team has spoken with Quinn Emanuel Urquhart and Sullivan, a 650 member office, and Glaser Weil who’s top litigator Patty Glaser has defended the likes of Conan O’Brien and America’s top chef racist, Paula Deen.

According to new reports, the encrypted emails/ files on your phone may be accessible to anyone in possession of your phone even if it is pass code protected. Any hacker that can get your phone hooked up to a computer can bypass password requirements and access all of your files. The software flaw is more pertinent to older iPhones and iPads because the new software doesn’t allow computers to access raw files. Andreas Kurtz, a security expert from Germany, has discovered the security breach and reached out to Apple to notify them of the problem.
