Rain Rain Go Away

Noticed a lot of rain last night? Yup many people did. They are tornadoes in the south that are causing the massive rain. The flooding danger has forced a state of emergency for three communities in Delaware County - Chester, Marple Township and Darby Borough. In Philadelphia, parts of Kelly Drive and MLK Drive are closed this morning after the Schuylkill River overflowed its banks. They are worried the river will continue to rise. If we receive more rain. There are some school delays this morning and many roads are closed.  So make sure you leave early and get in contact with your childs’ school.

A Prisoner Is Suing Big Artists

A California prisoner, Richard Dupree, is taking legal action against several big stars. He has filed a $2.4 billion lawsuit against Beyonce, Jay Z, Kanye West, Rihanna and Chris Brown claiming that they all stole song lyrics that he wrote while he has been incarcerated. He filed the suit on April 21st and alleges that the CIA, FBI and Homeland Security were used to spy on him and get the lyrics to more than 3,000 songs he wrote.  This guy is clearly mentally ill. I don’t

Florida State Quarterback Busting For Shoplifting Crablegs

The Heisman trophy winning quarter back from Florida State University, Jameis Winston, was obviously hungry. On Tuesday night he was spotted by a employee, and caught on a surveillance camera, leaving the grocery store without paying $32 dollars for his items. What did he take? Crawfish and crab legs. Authorities went to Winston’s house later that night where they said he admitted to forgetting to pay for the goods. An official said, “Jameis was very cooperative…He did, in fact, acknowledge he had left Publix without paying for the items. He indicated to the deputies he had forgotten. And when he got home he realized that he had not paid. But he in fact had made no effort to contact Publix or return to pay prior to the deputies’ arrival.” Winston, who was not arrested, will have to complete a pre-trial program, pay a fine, do community service and provide restitution for Publix. He has been suspended from the team indefinitely until he completes his program. This is not the first time this guy has had a run in with the law.  Last year a woman accused him of sexually assaulting her and he was never charged because of insufficient evidence and in 2012 he was questioned regarding 13 windows being damaged in his complex after he had a bb gun fight with his friend.  They denied the fight and was never charged.  Then in another incident, police records show Winston came into a Burger King with three men but did not order food, instead asking for a water cup he repeatedly filled with soda over an employee’s objections. The report says Winston was never interviewed about the incident because the restaurant declined to prosecute.

Another City Bans Plastic Shopping Bags

In a 36-10 vote, Chicago became the latest US city to place a ban on plastic shopping bags. Starting August 2015 stores that are larger than 10,000 square feet will not be allowed to provide plastic shopping bags. This is expected to be extended to smaller establishments over time, probably around August 2016. Small independent and non-franchise stores will not have to comply with the new order. Establishments found to be in violation will have to pay fines that range between $300 and $500. Those in opposition to the bill argue that paper bags are 3 times as expensive as plastic bags and that this doesn’t help the environment given the killing of trees involved in the paper bag making process.

Drake Says Meek MiIll Song Is One Of Best Rap Moments

Drake must have been in a reflective mood last night. He took to Twitter to show major Philly love and shout out the intro to Meek Mill’s ‘Dreams and Nightmares’. He called the intro “one of the best rap moments of our generation” and left it at that. Hopefully Meek comes with even more great rap moments with his forthcoming album ‘Dreams Worth More Than Money’ due out later this summer.

Women Arrested For Twerking

Guess the defense “Miley taught them” isn’t going to fly here. 3 women were arrested outside after twerking outside of an Oregon City Hall. One of the ‘suspects’ had gone to the building to pay a fine after which she and her friends started twerking, perhaps in celebration? Police say that twerking was not the only offense and that one woman peed then she and another woman exposed their genitals all while the third friend filmed it on her cell phone. World Star? Upon being stopped officers found cocaine, marijuana and prescription pills in their car. They have been charged with disorderly conduct, offensive littering, drug possession and tampering with drug records and are being held in a Portland jail.

State Enacts Law To Jail Pregnant Women On Drugs

Tennessee is going to greater lengths to protect the safety of unborn babies. A bill was signed into law on Tuesday that will mandate that pregnant women who are on drugs will be incarcerated. The new law goes into effect in July. Any woman who takes narcotic drugs while pregnant and the baby is born addicted, is injured or dies as a result can be prosecuted for assault. The woman can avoid charges if she completes a state treatment program. A reproductive group advocate in opposition to the bill said, “Today, the Tennessee governor has made it a crime to carry a pregnancy to term if you struggle with addiction or substance abuse…This deeply misguided law will force those women who need health care the most into the shadows. Pregnant women with addictions need better access to health care, not jail time.” In response to criticism from civil rights and reproductive groups, Governor Bill Haslam said, “I understand the concerns about this bill, and I will be monitoring the impact of the law through regular updates with the court system and health professionals.”

Anaface Website Tells You If Your Pretty Or Not

Ladies, the days of annoying your boyfriend and asking him if you’re pretty or not are over. Anaface.com is a new website that uses data points and algorithms that to analyze your face and give you a beauty score. Users upload an image of their face to the program and are instructed to place 17 markers on specific areas of their face. The app then uses the symmetry of your face to determine your “beauty”. One of the site’s creators said, “The algorithm we use is based on a combination of neo-classical beauty measures, substantial research and statistical analysis.”

Rob Ford Going To Rehab

According to reports our favorite “crack-mayor”, Toronto’s Rob Ford, will be heading to rehab. This decision has come after he was caught on tape Monday night bad-mouthing a political opponent allegedly saying he wanted to “f****** jam her”. While his team is urging him to stay in the race, Ford will be taking a break from his campaigning duties to get some help. In an official statement he released on Wednesday night he said, “this is one of the most difficult times in my life…I have a problem with alcohol, and the choices I have made while under the influence... I have tried to deal with these issues by myself over the past year. I know that I need professional help and I am now 100% committed to getting myself right.”
