Zimmerman Fight Is Off Again!!! - The George Zimmerman fight has been cancelled again after Trayvon Martin's family refused to accept any money from the fight's promoter. Earlier yesterday, the first boxing promoter Damon Feldman held a press conference in Delaware officially announcing that he had removed himself from the fight involving George Zimmerman due to the overwhelming criticism and the counsel of his friend Floyd Mayweather Sr. Feldman said, “I am over and done with this. I am out. I just want to move on to better things. Where I wanted to go with this was not the direction it was going, even though I could have capitalized on this. I don’t know what to say. I am very emotional. I worked my whole life and career for this and now I am going to give it up. But it is better for Alki David and FilmOn.com to take it over. It will relieve a lot of stress.” Yesterday the foundation said that it "stands boldly against any act of violence" and would reject FilmOn promoter Alki David's donations (who is the second promoter). David also confirmed that the fight is cancelled, saying, "I respect the wishes of the family and in light of this we are canceling the event."

Michael Dunn Trial - In Florida, Michael Dunn is on trial for killing an unarmed black 17 year old boy named Jordan Davis in a 7-11 parking lot because the boy was playing his music too loud. Dunn, who is 47, is being charged with 1st degree murder and claims he and Jordan Davis were arguing about his music being too loud and that the music was hurting his ear. Yesterday he took the stand saying that he thought the teenage boy was carrying a gun in the car.  Now Dunn’s girlfriend who was in the store when this guy killed Jordan Davis never mentioned that Dunn thought the boy had a gun. Dunn testified, “Jordan Davis kept escalating this until the point I had no choice. It was life and death.” Florida is a stand your ground state so if the jury believed Michael Dunn was scared for his life he could get off.

NFL Continues To React To Michael Sam Coming Out - In the wake of Michael Sam’s game changing announcement that he is an openly gay football player some NFLers have spoken out. Jonathan Vilma, a linebacker for the New Orleans Saints implied that he wouldn’t be too comfortable having a gay team mate. During an interview he said, “I think that he [Michael Sam] would not be accepted as much as we think he would be accepted…I don't want people to just naturally assume, like, 'Oh, we're all homophobic.' That's really not the case. Imagine if he's the guy next to me and, you know, I get dressed, naked, taking a shower, the whole nine, and it just so happens he looks at me. How am I supposed to respond?” This is not Vilma’s first public declaration of homophobic views. Back in 2011 he was criticized for several tweets including: “Grown men should NOT hav [sic] female tendencies. Period.” And “So of course the homosexual men get sensitive to my tweet and respond all ticked off. RELAX I was not referring to u guys.” The Washington Redskins’ London Fletcher also spoke about Sam’s announcement saying, “There's such a stigma with gay and homosexuals within male sports…It would be very difficult for that first person to come out.”
