Rob Ford has voluntarily checked into a rehab center and according to Canadian reports he is loving it. He checked into the facility after he was taped going on a rant in a bar where he could be heard trashing his wife, mayoral candidates, the bar staff and the gay community.  He spoke to the Toronto Sun saying, “Rehab is amazing. It reminds me of football camp Kind of like the Washington Redskins camp I went to as a kid. I am working out every day and I am learning about myself, my past and things like that.” When asked if he will be returning to the ballow and running for mayor he said, “I will be on the ballot for mayor in October, guaranteed, and I will do well…on Oct. 28, there will be no need to change the locks. There will be no need to clean out my office because I am coming back.”

Adrian Broner Suspended

When will these celebrities learn that there is no room for racism either on or off the court/ field/ ring? Boxer Adrien Broner has been suspended for making racially insensitive marks during a post-fight interview with Jim Gray. Broner beat Mexican Carlos during an undercard fight on Saturday before the Mayweather fight.  Broner said, “Call me the Can Man because I've beaten Africans and I just beat the f*** out of a Mexican.” When he received criticism for the comment he attempted to set the record straight by saying, “I love all Mexicans.” The World Boxing Council has decided to suspend Broner until he explains his words or apologizes. The WBC issued the following statement:

Adrien Broner , former WBC lightweight champion has offended many persons of the world with his words during the interview after the fight vs Molina. The World Boxing Council holds human equality as its banner and will not accept a former WBC champion to make racially offensive statements. Since words have different meanings and can be interpreted in different ways, the WBC is issuing this open letter to Adrien Broner to either clarify what he meant with his words or to issue a public apology if those words were intended to be disrespectful and offensive. Adrien Broner is hereby suspended from participating in any WBC sanctioned Championship and will be excluded from the WBC Ratings until the time he makes a public apology satisfactorily to the public of the world. Boxing is a great sport, it is a world sport and boxers are honorable and exemplary members of the community. Fair play and human equality must always be upheld.

Shovel Girl Under Investigation

One day these kids will realize that these fight videos can land them in jail. The most recent viral “scuffle” was between two girls where one decided it was a good idea to throw a shovel at the head of her opponent. When the internet got a hold of the video it quickly went viral sprouting countless parodies and memes. The Miami County police department isn’t as amused as Instagram so they have launched an investigation. According to TMZ, the high school the girls attend has been contacted and a deputy has been assigned to the case. The shovel hurler could be facing assault and disorderly conduct charges.

Bell Hooks Calls Beyonce A Terrorist

During a feminism talk at NYC’s The New School feminist scholar Bell Hooks along with activist Janet Mock, author Marci Blackman and film maker Shola Lynch discussed topics around the idea of “Are You Still A Slave”. During this open panel, Beyonce’s recent TIME magazine cover became the subject. Hooks analyzed the cover saying, “One could deconstruct for days that…first she's looking kind of like a dear in headlights…And she's wearing the panty and bra set that some of us wore when we were 10 or 12, and I'm thinking 'isn't this interesting that she's being supposedly held up as one of the most important people in our nation, in the world? What is that cover meant to say about the Black female body?” When her co-panelists questioned her and said that Beyonce picks her own wardrobe and has a lot of influence over how she is portrayed in the media Hooks responded with, “I see a part of Beyoncé that is in fact anti-feminist — that is a terrorist, especially in terms of the impact on young girls.” Hooks see’s Beyonce’s portrayal in the media as a service to the “imperialist, white supremacist capitalist patriarch” therefore making her a slave.

Java Pickett Smith Dismisses Critics

Earlier this week Jada and Will Smith’s parenting decisions came under fire when a picture of 13 year old Willow laying in a bed with 20 year old actor Moises Arias hit the web. Many saw the picture as inappropriate and tasteless mainly because Arias didn’t have a shirt on. Jada set the record straight on critics saying, “Heres the deal. There was nothing sexual about that picture, or that situation. You guys are projecting your trash onto it and you’re acting like covert pedophiles, and that’s not cool.”

Woman Has Abortion On Video

When 25 year old New Jersey abortion clinic worker, Emily Letts, found out she was pregnant she decided that she wanted to turn her abortion into something positive. She knew immediately upon finding out that she was going to terminate the pregnancy because of her relationship with the father and her inability to support the child. She filmed a video diary of her abortion “to show women that there is such a thing as a positive abortion story.” A month after her procedure she said that she is happy with her decision and doesn’t “feel like a bad person”. But critics see it differently. Conservative bloggers have commented: “I don't know what degree of godlessness you have to have in order to not only film the slaughter of a child but feel fondness every time you re-watch it” and “Ah. good times. Becoming irresponsibly pregnant and then having a birth-like experience of destroying a fetus–complete with pictures!”
