The legendary stage screen actress, Civil Rights leader and African American icon Ruby Dee has died at 91. According to the Daily News her death was confirmed Thursday by a family member although she died on that Wednesday evening. Latifah Salahudin, a family friend, told Daily News that, "All three kids and seven grandkids were there, surrounding her with so much love. She went peacefully from natural causes." Ruby Dee's accomplishments range from reading at the March On Washington in 1963 to acting alongside the great Sidney Poitier in "A Raisin in the Sun." This is a woman who will be truly missed and we will pray for her family.
