Steve Kerr was a lock to be the new coach of the New York Knicks...until the Golden State Warriors job became available!!! TNT reported today that Kerr will be the new head coach of the Warriors accepting a 5 year deal worth $25 million. Not a bad deal for a first time coach. Some suggest that Kerr took the position over the Knicks job because his family is located in the San Diego area and it would be a far easier transition than moving to New York. Kerr passed up a chance to work for his former Chicago Bulls head coach and now Knicks President Phil Jackson. I wonder if former Warriors coach Mark Jackson will be getting a call about the Knicks job since he's from New York??? You can read more on this story here.
