Allen Iverson retired his number this past weekend and surprised the audience when he uttered the words "Tawanna Iverson" in his speech, stating,

"I want to thank Tawanna Iverson,  for helping me grow as a man and taking care of me throughout my career and always being by my side and loving me.”

While also adding,

"She'll always be my favorite person in the world."

So what changed?

As many know Allen and Tawanna’s relationship has not been the best, as she filed for divorce in 2011, followed by a nasty custody battle, allegations of Allen taking money from her and alcohol abuse.

However, Tawanna tells TMZSports sources that they were able to resolve their issues after a long talk.

"We've known each other since we were 16 years old ... and we have 5 kids together. So, we have to do what's best for our kids."

It is unclear if the two are getting back together, but it now seems they are in a happier place with one another, as she states,

"We'll always have a connection with each other,"
