How Do We Increase the Peace in Our Schools - Join the Live Conversation

Posted April 17th, 2014 @ 6:31pm

Clear Channel's Power 99 is going to stop the music tonight  to talk about increasing the peace in our schools. Recent violence at Bartram high school brings to the forefront the challenges many Philadelphia schools, students, teachers and parents are facing.

Is it a parent issue, is it staffing and lack of funding? A new Vanderbilt university study suggests that teaching younger students’ conflict-resolution skills -- to think before they act -- could be more effective than other techniques for reducing violence.

We're going to talk about those challenges and look at what call to action we can come to. In the next hour we're stopping the music and we bringing the rise and grind morning show with Mikey Dredd Mina SayWhat and Mutha Knows and WDAS afternoon air personality Frankie Darcell plus an panel of experts to help us guide the conversation
