The NFL is one of the most lucrative businesses in the world, yet they want more money, and this time from singer M.I.A. The NFL is suing the singer for $16.6 million for when she flipped the bird during the 2012 halftime show standing beside Madonna.

Originally, the NFL was demanding $1.5 million, but now is demanding $15 million more in “restitution” according to VladTV. Even though she performed for free, the restitution figure as being equal to what advertisers would have paid for their ad space during the few minutes she was on stage, on top of the public recognition she gained from being watched by almost 176 million TV sets during her performance.

M.I.A disagrees. "The claim for restitution lacks any basis in law, fact, or logic."  She also believes that the NFL's "continued pursuit of this proceeding is transparently an exercise by the NFL intended solely to bully and make an example of Respondents for daring to challenge NFL."

Do you think the $16.6 million demanded from the NFL is fair, or are they taking her giving the middle finger during the show to far? Let us know in our #PowerPoll below!
