One shady Florida geezer got taken in by police after they determined he starved his wife to death. Harold Allen, 75, was booked in Florida on Monday on charges of negligent manslaughter. The NY Daily News reports Allen had been the sole caretaker of his 74-year-old wife and police say he allegedly starved her until she died, weighing just 68 pounds.
Harold Allen called the police on January 6 to report that his wife was dead and told deputies that she had been bedridden and unresponsive for around three weeks. Karen Allen had not seen a doctor for approximately five years, he said, even though he regularly sought medical professionals for his own health, the sheriff’s office said. The medical examiner ruled her death was caused by pulmonary thromboembolism, or a blood clot in the lungs, contributed by immobilization and dehydration.Reports say there was plenty of food in the house and Allen told police that his wife had eaten the day before she died. Medical reports prove he was lying, finding her stomach to be empty during the time of her death. -(Bossip)
