- Congratulations to Questlove who is officially an Oscar winner for his musical documentary, “Summer of Soul.”
- The documentary won over contenders Ascension, Attica, Flee, and Writing With Fire. Questlove attended the Oscars with his mother, Jacqui Andrews, and during his acceptance speech he made it clear the moment was bigger than him.
- “This is such a stunning moment for me right now, but it’s not about me. It’s about marginalized people in Harlem that needed to heal from pain. Just know that in 2022, this is not just a 1969 story about marginalized people in Harlem,” said Questlove.
- “Summer of Soul,” has won a slew of awards this season and could possibly pick up one more, during next week’s Grammys where it is nominated for Best Music Film.
