The BET Awards to Host Show with Vaccinated-Only Audience

The BET Awards switched things up for last year's awards, like many other award shows due to the pandemic. Everyone basically did pre-recorded performances and canceled the live audience thing. A lot of award shows did the streaming thing with their winners, and so forth. Last year, the BET Awards went down with performers delivering the same message and demanding equality and justice for black people. And the show was hosted by Amanda Seales. Well this year, the award show will go down in June. But there is a slight twist. BET reports the 2021 BET Awards show will return as a live event from L.A. and they are basically inviting people to be a part of the live audience if they have been vaccinated. BET said today that vaccinated individuals can register beginning May 27 for consideration to be a part of the 2021 awards. The network assures it will work closely with Los Angeles County to support community vaccination efforts and ensure adherence to Covid-19 protocol. So there you have it. Normalcy is taking shape. I guess you can say this is a push for BET to have people get vaccinated and hey, it may work.
