Sesame Street Adds 2 Black Muppets To Talk About Race and Identity

Sesame Street has been around for years and is a staple in many households. One thing you have to love about the show is that it will incorporate things that kids really go through. It's a very progressive show. Just a few years ago, they added a muppet that was autistic, they've add a muppet who was homeless and now, they are adding 2 black muppets. The new muppets are Wes and Elijah and are father and son. According to Today, they are being introduced in an effort to help children understand racial literacy. The muppets were introduced in a short video created by Sesame Workshop, the nonprofit educational organization behind the long-running show. You can see a clip HERE. So if you think it's difficult to explain race to your small kids, check out the clip to help you out.
