Chadwick Boseman Receives His First-Ever Oscar Nomination

  • Chadwick Boseman has been nominated for Best Actor for his role in the Netflix movie, Ma Rainey's Black Bottom.
  • He is the first posthumous nominee in the category since Massimo Troisi for the 1995 Il Postino.
  • This is Chadwick's first ever Oscar nomination.
  • He is the third person in Oscar history to be a nominee after passing. The other two are Heath Ledger and Ralph Richardson.
