NBA Players Will Have Lighter Checks With Canceled Season

This coronavirus has taken a lot out of us. It has canceled every sport with some athletes even becoming ill from the virus. But not only are every day Americans feeling the hit in their pockets, some athletes are feeling it as well. While some athletes have helped with the COVID-19 relief, whether it was helping staff members or the community, NBA players are about to get a smaller paycheck. With the 2019-20 NBA season being canceled, it looks like the league will withhold 25 percent of each player's paycheck beginning in the middle of May with a possible reduction if the rest of the season is canceled, according to NBA Insider Adrian Wojnaroski. Hip Hop Wired says some players will be hurting, like the lesser known players because like Portland Trailblazers star CJ McCollum said up to 150 players are currently living paycheck to paycheck. But hopefully if these NBA guys call each other brothers, their brothers will look out for them.
